Synchronizing Bank Transactions

Once your bank is connected, the system ensures your data is kept up to date, providing you with a current overview of your finances without manual data entry.

Automatic Synchronization

The system automatically fetches new transactions from your connected bank accounts several times a day. These transactions appear in your Cash Journal, ready to be matched with documents and approved.

Manual Fetching

If you have just made a payment and need to see it in the system immediately, you can trigger a manual fetch:

  1. Go to Bank Statements under References in the sidebar.
  2. Select Account: Choose the specific bank account you want to update.
  3. Choose Period: Select a Start Date and End Date. Note that your subscription plan may limit how far back you can fetch data.
  4. Fetch: Click Fetch Transactions. The system will connect to your bank and import any new movements found in that period.

How Data is Handled

  • Duplicate Protection: Our system automatically recognizes transactions it has already imported based on unique IDs provided by the bank. You never have to worry about double entries.
  • Safe Updates: Fetching transactions again for the same period is perfectly safe. The system only adds what is missing or updates existing records if their status has changed at the bank.
  • Read-Only: All synchronization is strictly read-only. The system can see your history but can never initiate payments or move money.

Transaction Status

In the Bank Statements overview, you can see the raw data as received from the bank. This serves as a clear audit trail, allowing you to verify that every movement in your bank account is accounted for in your bookkeeping.
